FESTIVAL INFORMATION

9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The Liberty Heritage Festival is an annual outdoor event that celebrates Liberty's rich and vibrant history and signals the beginning of spring.
The annual event is a family-oriented, fun-filled day sponsored by Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc., which offers free activities and entertainment for children of all ages, along with new historical features to celebrate the rich history of the area.
Entertainment Stages
Children's entertainment stage will be located on the east side of Main Street between Kansas and Franklin. There will be acts performing from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Rooney Family Stage area is located in front of the Rooney Justice Center and will feature local talents such as dance groups, ballet, and much more. These groups feature youth from the area. These performances are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Jesse James Bank area will be the location of Jesse James and his gang during the bank robbery. There are three times for this event. At other times during the day there will be storytellers telling stories of the past at this location. Special features will be from Pablo, Cherokee storyteller.

Children's activities
Throughout this festival you will be able to find free activities for the children. Children's activities and games will be located on Main Street, between Kansas and Franklin.
The Liberty Optimist Club will feature their game area where the children will receive a goody bag of items donated by Hallmark for participating in the games.
Free pony rides will be offered once again this year at the City Parking lot located at Kansas and Missouri. The rides will be offered from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The group providing the pony rides is the Polo Lone Riders Club from Polo, Missouri.
There will be face painting, balloon art, and many more activities for children to enjoy.
Storytellers
Pablo is a story teller from Mexico, Missouri. He was at the festival last year, and will once again be featured this year. He is a storyteller who specializes in the Cherokee struggles during the Trail of Tears. He is also a Native American flutist, offering many of the instruments and music for sale at his booth between performances.
Arts and Crafts
The Liberty Heritage Festival is rapidly becoming known as an art and craft show which features handcrafted items for sale. The vendors must make their craft. Each year there are new crafters taking part in the event, offering the consumer an array of choices. Vendor locations and names can be obtained at the Festival Information Booth located on the corner of Kansas and Main during the event.

Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers' Market
Festival attendees will also find fresh, locally grown produce and spring flowers from the Historic Downtown Liberty Farmer's Market. Farmer's market vendors will be located for this festival on Kansas Street by the City Hall.

Authors Alley..NEW
The Liberty Arts Commission and Historic Downtown Liberty Inc will be sponsoring a new addition to the festival this year. Local published writers and poets have been invited to have booths in the Authors Alley area in front of the City Hall, by the fountain. They will be offering their books for sale, and be present to personally sign them.

Liberty, Mo is located 20 minutes northeast of downtown Kansas City. To visit Historic Downtown Liberty, take the Highway 152 exit off of I-35 and go east two miles.
